- Sarah and James Chamberlain moved to Texas from Missouri around 1850.
Their first three children were born in Johnson County, Missouri and the
other five were born in Texas. They settled in Burnet during the 1860's
and he had the first gin in the county which was also used as a
schoolhouse in the Jennings Creek- Mt.zion community.
